2011 Property Tax ClinicsThe Kane County Board of Review will again offer nine (9) Property Tax Clinics for Kane County taxpayers in 2011. I attended a session in the fall of 2010. The presentation was very good and I left with a new understanding of how our taxes are determined.
This year they began on August 16, and will continue each first and third Tuesday of the month through December 20. All clinics will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last about two hours.
The clinics will be held in the auditorium of Building A of the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Avenue in Geneva.
The clinics will help taxpayers understand how property taxes work, dispel myths about taxes and assessments, and provide a step-by-step explanation of the appeal process.
Both taxpayers and practitioners (attorneys, appraisers, brokers, etc.) are welcome to attend. For more information, call the Board of Review office at (630) 208-3818 or visit the board’s web site at http://www.kanecountyassessments.org/Clinics.pdf.
